The UAS Writing Center has a newly decorated space. Located in Egan Library room 105, the Writing Center moved there from the Learning Center, during the fall semester of 2012. It used to be known as the “Think Tank.”
The center offers a team of strong writers that believe writing is a crucial form of communication, according to the UAS website. Ranging from the “biology paper to the poem you wrote last night,” they aim to help students master written communication by providing supportive assistance.
Student tutor Alicia Steiner said Writing Center staff decided to remodel the space during fall semester. The walls were repainted, art was put up, and a new plant friend moved in during winter break.
“I think that we have a very welcoming space, even if you don’t want someone to look over your stuff. We get a lot of students that just come here to write, or to read, or to nap on our couch between classes,” Steiner said, “which I like because it feels like people just like to be in the space. It’s pretty calming, I think.”
The Writing Center staff encourages everyone to check out the makeover and get support for all your writing needs.
