Dr. Scott Billingsley came to UAS after 22 years at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where he taught history then moved into leadership, most recently Associate Vice Chancellor for Faculty Affairs. Along the way, he also served as UNC Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment, and Interim Provost.

Billingsley reached Juneau on June 29th. “After traveling nearly 4,000 miles from North Carolina in his truck while hauling a trailer with all of his possessions,” UAS Chancellor Aparna Palmer announced in an email to Juneau employees.

By July 1st, he was on the job and even seen with the UAS float in Juneau’s 4th of July parade.
